Data protection according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation

The European Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation (EHSF) e.V. is a non-profit public benefit organization according to the German law. The EU General Data Protection Regulation will enter into force on May 25, 2018. Our Organization has overtaken the required measurements in order to comply with it.

The EHSF e.V. members have provided a written consent that they want to continue to receive information about our activities, events and membership issues, and to be updated on upcoming academic and educational events.

They also have consented our use of their data for the stated purposes, namely for information and communication purposes. THE EHSF e.V. guarantees that it takes privacy protection, and the protection of the personal data of its members, very seriously, indeed. It will use their data solely in order to send its members invitations to events, to inform them about the work of the Organization, to forward Organization communications and to manage its membership and donor records, to collect membership fees, and to generate donation receipts. The list of members will only be forwarded to the professional organizer of the EHSF conferences so that the members can register at the reduced EHSF membership fee.

The members who provided their data and agreed for their use as mentioned above, will continue to be contacted from May 25, 2018 and to have their data be maintained in the EHSF lists. Their consent was freely given. The data to be provided to the Organization, including their name, address, email address, telephone and fax numbers and in special occasions the bank account details, will only be processed by the EHSF internally. Members data will only be stored for the time necessary to perform the activities specified above.

The data will then be erased unless they are under a statutory obligation to be kept. EHSF members have the right to request access to their personal data at any time. The EHSF will also rectify member’s data at his request, should an error have been made in connection with its storage. The Organization will of course also erase all personal data of a member at his/her request, provided this does not conflict with any statutory obligations. Should that be the case, the EHSF will lock the member’s data with the effect that it can no longer be processed or used. Members also have a right to object to these practices and a right to be provided with their data in electronic form. They furthermore have the right to complain to a supervisory authority responsible for data protection.

Members may withdraw your consent at any time. Such withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out on the basis of their consent prior to its withdrawal.
